"Dueling Pianos"
Mark Kersey and Randy Vancourt are two funny guys who also happen to be excellent pianists
but thats just the beginning! Both are professional actors with years of stage and television experience. Together with their twin pianos, they bring you a show filled with music, humor, flashy piano pieces, cabaret, and championship yo-yo tricks.
They have scoured libraries, television, the internet, and just about any other place possible to find interesting and unusual songs, then figured out how to present them in interesting and unusual ways. Some of their featured bits include bringing out an oversized eye-chart and having the entire audience follow along as it amazingly turns into a song. They do a tribute to television theme songs, disco music (with a mirror-ball helmet and halogen lamps), relationships, and everyday work. The championship yo-yo tricks are always entertaining, and the Cajun medley with tenor and soprano washboards is both unique and silly!
MARK KERSEY is an honors graduate of the music program at Humber College and has played for musicals at Solar Stage, The Bayview Playhouse, Young Peoples Theatre, Stage West, etc. He starred in Pump Boys and Dinettes, Made In Canada, and spent six years on the Mr. Dressup show as "Mark The Repairman." He has also written scripts and songs on Mr. Dressup and he appeared on Shining Time Station and in over 20 television commercials. He was the 1984 Canadian yo-yo champion and has recorded 5 albums with his childrens group The Stylamanders.
RANDY VANCOURT has performed all across North America as one-half of the comedy duo Gilbert and Glick. A busy composer, he has written music for such television programs as Dudley the Dragon, Hello Mrs. Cherrywinkle and Rockabye Bubble. His theme songs can be heard on Carmen Sandiego and the new YTV comedy Dont Lick The Pig. Randy has written scripts for the animated series The Mr. Men Show, and was a member of The Second City, the Brady Bunch Live show, and Montreals annual Festival Realite Jeunesse. His original stage plays include Forever For Now, The Christmas Show, and the award-winning comedy Chutzpah à Go-Go.
